Mars Kasei Blended Whisky - 40% ABV 700ml

Mars’ Kasei is widely recognised as a smooth, soft, approachable introduction to Japanese Whisky at an accessible price, from one of Japan’s finest high-altitude distilleries.

Blended from malt and grain whiskies and married from a variety of oak casks, it is produced at the Mars Shinshu Distillery in Nagano, in the Japanese Alps at around 800 metres above sea level. The cool mountain climate and exceptionally soft, snowmelt-fed water help create the whisky's character, while the blend brings together gentle fruit, floral notes and a subtle touch of smoke. ‘Kasei’ is simply the Japanese word for Mars.

Bright and inviting, with aromas of white flowers, ripe apple, pear and delicate citrus, alongside vanilla and a whisper of smoke. The palate is soft, rounded and lightly sweet, bringing together green apple, white grape, honey, caramel and warm spice. Smooth and easy-drinking, with a gentle smoky edge and a clean, lightly peppery finish with vanilla and citrus lingering at the end.

Enjoy neat to appreciate its delicate balance, over a large cube of ice, or lengthened with soda in a classic Japanese Highball. Its light, fruity profile also makes it an exceptionally versatile whisky for cocktails and relaxed long drinks.
