Heraki Akuarela White Wine - Sultaniye Cal Denizli 2025 13% TURKEY X 6 X 750ml
For those who enjoy Albariño, Chenin Blanc or other fresh, textured whites, here is an alternative, produced from 100% Sultaniye, one of Turkey’s many indigenous grape varieties.
Produced at high altitudes of 850-900 metres, from 40–60 year old dry-farmed bush vines, in Çal, Denizli Province, this is fermented under stainless steel and oval tanks, and aged 6 months on fine lees. It sees no oak.
The result is a lively, aromatic wine with notes of green apple, white grapefruit, lime and orchard fruit, backed by delicate floral and grassy aromas. The palate is fresh and zesty, with vibrant acidity, subtle peppery and mineral notes and a beautifully rounded texture. Crisp yet generously flavoured, with a clean, refreshing finish.
Best served well chilled, it pairs beautifully with grilled and pan-fried fish, seafood, sushi and sashimi, fresh salads, mezze, goat's cheese and Asian cuisine. Its bright acidity also works particularly well with spiced dishes, grilled vegetables and Turkish meze.
