La Cantina di Cesena White Wine - Dancing Albana Secco 2024 DOCG Romagna 13% ABV X 6 X 750ml ITALY
Part of a "Social winemaking" project, Dancing Albana is dedicated to the Italian lifestyle, enjoying dinners with friends dancing. Albana DOCG is Italy’s very first white wine to be granted DOCG status in 1987. Its name "Albana" comes from the Latin "Albus," meaning "white".
Albana has been cultivated in the Romagna hills for centuries, historically produced in a sweeter style. The Albana Secco (dry) version produced nowdays is the best expression of this indigenous grape variety. The vineyards are located at an elevation of 250 meters, providing a cooler climate and allowing the grapes to ripen slowly while retaining their natural acidity. The soil is a blend of clay, limestone, and marl, which gives the wine its distinctive mineral character and structure. The vines, aged between 20 and 30 years old, are trained using the double arched cane method, which helps to control yields and concentrate the flavors in the grapes.
It offers a complex bouquet: primary aromas as white flowers and prominent notes of almonds and hints of exotic fruits like pineapple and savory, mineral notes.
On the palate, it is a dry and full-bodied wine. The hallmark of Dancing Albana Secco is its unique combination of warm, enveloping flavor and a surprising tangy minerality. It has a good structure, a persistent finish, and a characteristic slightly bitter aftertaste of almonds, which is its signature.
